School Meals

At dinner time, all meals are eaten in the school hall where children are encouraged to enjoy this social occasion whilst eating sensibly and practicing good table manners.  There is enough time for everyone to eat their meals and have the opportunity to play together.  We have a large playground and an even larger field area, both offering a range of equipment to play on and keep active.  At lunch time we arrange activities led by a Play Coach to help encourage and add structure to games.

Children may order a school dinner (hot or cold) or bring a packed lunch from home.  Children are encouraged to eat all their lunch and children who have a packed lunch will return anything they have not eaten so that you can see how much they have eaten.

We are a nut free school - please do not send in anything that may contain nuts – this is to protect children with allergies.

Free School Meals (FSM)

Your child may be eligible for free school meals and milk – for more information please check the Lincolnshire County Council website here.

It is worth checking your eligibility as schools not only receive the funding to cover the meals, but also a significant amount more which can go towards other elements of the education of our children.  This is known as Pupil Premium and more information about this is provided in the “Key Information” section of our website (click here).

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal under current legislation.  You may choose to order meals for every day, some days or once in a while.  It is important to cancel your meal if you change your mind once ordered.

Our School Meals Provider

Good Lookin Cookin offers a range of nutritional meal options at a cost of £2.40 per day.  They are a local family run provider whose school meals are locally sourced and sustainable.

Each day there is a choice of main course, including a vegetarian and cold option and pudding or fruit.

Fruit and Vegetables for children in Key Stage 1

Eagle School is part of the Government’s School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme.  Under the scheme, each child in Key Stage 1 is entitled to receive a free piece of fruit or vegetable each school day.

Milk

Every child under the age of 5 years is eligible for free school milk.  If your child is over 5 years of age they are entitled to subsidised milk.  You can register your child for school milk at Cool Milk.
